Everything You Need to Know About Kor Whitening

If you are unhappy with the color of your teeth, you may be tempted to buy an OTC whitening solution to brighten your smile. Unfortunately, a lot of the whitening kits on the market are unreliable, difficult to use, and rarely give you the desired results. That's why we are here at Monarch Dental Arts, use and recommend the Kor whitening system

If this is your first time hearing about it, you may wonder what it is and how it works.

Here's everything you need to know about Kor whitening.

What Is Kor Whitening

Kor Whitening is a teeth whitening system that uses traditional bleaching agents, such as peroxide, together with their state-of-the-art technology.

When it comes to regular whitening kits, the trays are filled with whitening gel and placed on the teeth. However, saliva can easily penetrate these trays and affect the efficiency of the whitening process. That's because saliva can "eat away" the whitening gel, affecting its potency.

The Kor trays, on the other hand, are specifically designed to keep saliva and other fluids out. The trays combined with the Kor whitening gel can provide up to ten hours of whitening activity in just half an hour.

Another thing that makes Kor Whitening different is that the system has to always be refrigerated to fully benefit from its effects.

The Whitening Process: What to Expect

If you opt to have the Kor Whitening treatment in our office, then our dentists will first make sure that your oral health is in good condition before proceeding with the treatment. If you are cleared, the dentist will apply the whitening agent and then the trays.

If you opt for the at-home solution, then you can choose between Kor-Day and Kor-Night.

The nighttime solution is the most effective as you will have to wear the trays at night while you are sleeping. But, if you have teeth sensitivity and don't want to wear the trays throughout the night, then the Kor-Day system may be the right one for you. It's specially designed to be worn for shorter periods while also giving you the same great results.

Common Questions About Kor Whitening

  • Why Is the System Refrigerated?

Whitening gels are generally unstable and can degenerate fast at room temperature or when exposed to fluctuating temperatures. By refrigerating the gel from the moment it's manufactured until you receive the treatment, the company ensures that you will get the most potent and effective whitening treatment.

  • Can I Use Kor Whitening If My Teeth Are Sensitive?

Yes. The company actually developed an array of desensitizing methods to help patients who struggle with teeth sensitivity to receive whitening treatment and enjoy a beautiful smile.
